Does social media activism decrease in-person activism? To answer this question, Linda Charmaraman, Ph.D., conducted surveys before and after the 2016 U.S. presidential election. In this video, Charmaraman discusses how generation, gender, and race intersect with online political participation. Interestingly, Charmaraman found that "extremely engaged" social media users tended to also be active in political discussions and arenas offline.
